Registration Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is there any cost to register for classes?

No, our General Education classes are offered at no cost - these include HiSET Preparation, High School Diploma, Adult Basic Ed (math and language arts), ESL beginning through advanced, and U.S. Citizenship Preparation. Pre Nursing is a mandatory prerequisite class to enter Vocational Nursing and is offered at no cost other than the textbook students need to buy for the class.  Vocational Nursing does charge tuition, but applying to the program is free.

2. Can I apply online?

Yes, please submit the registration form and schedule a testing appointment from the links on our Registration webpage to register for General Education classes. See the Pre Nursing and Vocational Nursing webpages for instructions about how to apply online for those classes.

3. Do I need transcripts for the high school diploma class?

Yes,  Official, sealed transcripts from all high schools attended are required for the high school diploma class. You may go directly to the high school/school district attended or use Parchment.com to request transcripts. There is a fee for this service.
Unofficial transcripts may be emailed to Lorena Polanczyk at [email protected] to begin the class until official transcripts are received.
No Transcripts are needed for the HiSET Preparation class.

4. What is the CASAS test, and why is it required?

The CASAS test is required for all new students in our General Education classes and helps us to determine the correct class for students to begin with, based on their reading comprehension and math scores. Students will also take the test again after attending classes for 40 hours or more, to measure progress.
